“This Once-Beloved Star, Spotted with a Cane, Is Nearly Unrecognizable Today”: Who Is She?
Brigitte Bardot rarely makes public appearances, but recently the former actress visited the Élysée Palace to discuss her charitable foundation’s work with the president and his wife.
During the recent French presidential elections, Bardot urged her fellow citizens not to vote for Emmanuel Macron, believing that he lacked compassion. Her concerns are not unfounded; Bardot has long been an advocate for animal rights and has been striving to end cruelty against them.
Despite her objections, the French public did not heed Bardot’s warnings, and Macron won the election. Yet, recently, she decided to put aside her reservations and meet with the president to address pressing issues.
At the Élysée Palace, Bardot, who uses crutches for mobility, appeared in black trousers and a round-neck top, accessorizing her outfit with a choker. Macron opted for a more casual look, sporting jeans and a crisp white shirt.
From the photographs, it appears that the meeting was successful— the 1960s fashion icon, the president, and the first lady all smiled and seemed to engage in friendly conversation. It seems that Emmanuel Macron was able to convince Brigitte Bardot of his genuine interest in the work of the Fondation Brigitte Bardot, which she established.
