The beloved actress and model was born in Los Angeles on June 4, 1975. In a family of famous at that time actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. Jolie inherited Slovak and German roots from her father, and French Canadian, German and Dutch roots from her mother.

In 1976, Jolie’s parents divorced when the baby was only one year old (the divorce process took about two years) and subsequently the children and their mother moved to New York. There, the mother often took her daughter to cinemas. At that time love for acting was born in her. According to the actress, this is what influenced her choice, and not an acting pedigree or a famous father.

Because of the hostility towards her father in 2002, Angelina filed an official application to change her surname to “Joli”, in the same year her father spoke in an interview and said that his daughter was mentally deranged. Originally her surname was Voight.

On January 27, 2007, the mother of the actress died from cancer.

Despite this, she is very close to her brother and can often be seen with him at various solemn ceremonies.

Despite all the difficulties, at the age of 14, Jolie managed to work on fashion shows, as well as shoot several music videos, including Rolling stones and Meat Loaf. However, at the age of 16 she returned to the theater.

The second marriage took place in 2000 with actor Billy Thornt. The marriage lasted three years, and after the divorce, tattoos with initials were removed.

Brad and Angelina did not comment on their relationship to the general public for a long time. The relationship began during the filming of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. In 2006, Angelina announced that she was expecting a child with Brad. Only after 7 years the engagement was announced, and on August 23, 2014, a marriage ceremony was held in France. However, already in September 2016, Jolie filed for divorce.

As you know, Jolie has not only her own children, but also foster ones. There are 6 of them in total. Three after marriage with Brad – Vivienne, Knox and Shiloh, as well as three adopted – Maddox, Pax and Zahara. All of them have  the double surname Jolie-Pitt.
