How a Woman Transformed Her 10×11 Feet House Into a Cozy Dream Home: Pics Before And After!

Many people are trying to change their lifestyle by choosing to live in tiny houses. The reasons for this choice are varied. Some people choose compact housing due to environmental awareness – they strive to reduce their carbon footprint and lead a more conscious life. Others strive for simplicity and minimalism, reducing the number of things and focusing on the essentials.

Living in a small house has many advantages: such homes are easy to clean, they are cheaper to maintain and convenient to move. For example, Heather, a traveler who lived in a van, after the pandemic and a difficult divorce, decided to settle in a small house. This is her first own home, and for her it became a logical continuation of living in a van.

For Heather, this is quite real! From the outside, her house looks simple, because Heather did only what was necessary, not knowing how long she would live here. However, the house has everything she needs. Going inside, on the right you will see her work area by the window, which offers picturesque views.

On the left is a cozy living room with swing tables that are convenient to use for a laptop during evening movie screenings. Many pillows are scattered on the sofa for comfort. Opposite the entrance is a kitchen, a fireplace and a bathroom. On the left is a wood-burning stove, which cost more than Heather expected, but provides comfort and warmth on rainy days and winter frosts.

The kitchen is small but functional. There is a sink, which is currently only used for storing dishes, and a camping stove – an ideal solution for cooking for one person. Open shelves above the kitchen are decorated with glassware and plates, as well as food supplies. A small refrigerator, donated by Heather’s mother, has become a place for magnets from her travels. The shed also has plenty of storage space: boxes for food, clothes, shoes, books, as well as a composting toilet under the sink.

Above the living room is a bedroom in the attic – a space that Heather uses only for sleeping. “I like the atmosphere of this house,” says Heather. “For the first time in my life, I had complete control over my space. It is open, airy and reminiscent of living in nature, but inside. This is my safe corner that inspires creativity.” Heather managed to turn a small shed into a cozy and functional home, which became her real inspiration.
