Everyday, a stray dog travels by train by himself

A large, brown dog was recently spotted traveling on buses, trams, subways, and ferries in Istanbul, according to the city’s public transportation agency. Every time the dog, whose they named Boji, boards or exits the train, he appears to be precisely where he needs to be.

According to Aylin Erol, head of customer relations at Metro Istanbul, “two months ago, we saw a dog trying to use our trams, metros, and trains, and he knows where to go and where to get out.” “We started to follow him because it was extremely fascinating. And the pattern itself was quite intriguing. He has a plan and knows where to go, or something similar.”

Public transportation employees picked up Boji in the middle of August and took him to the veterinarian for a checkup. Additionally, Boji was given a microchip that is linked to a smartphone application, enabling Metro Istanbul’s customer service division to monitor his location and health.

Due to his frequent travels, Boji has gained notoriety on the bus and train. He enjoys taking pictures with commuters and getting tons of petting and treats when he’s not snoozing on a tram seat, running to catch a train, or taking in the breeze on the boat.

The good boy has established himself as the most courteous traveler you’ll ever meet.

According to Cumhuriyet, “Boji knows all the laws of travel, yields to the departing people, waits, boards the train, and quietly selects a position for himself. He chases after the metro when he misses it.”

Boji circles the city, stopping at at least 29 locations and covering over 18 miles every day, waving to his adoring followers. While the majority of commuters can’t wait to exit the bus or metro, Boji feels most at ease there.

According to traveler Abdulkadir Yalçn, it is “quite gorgeous,” he told Cumhuriyet. “It makes the subway more fun. It gives us a grin. It’s the first time I’ve come across something like that.”

Fortunately, the good youngster can board his favourite bus or train without having to pay a fare. It’s merely home to Boji.
