Bristol’s Narrowest House Is Just 1.97 Feet Wide: How Do People Live There?

In the English city of Bristol, there is an unusual house. The two-story residential building with five apartments is located in one of the quiet residential areas of the city. On the left side, the house seems very narrow, only 60 centimeters wide. However, if you go to the other end, you can see that it has a completely normal shape.

One of the residents of the house, 59-year-old Andy Watson, has lived in the house for almost two decades. But for sixteen years he did not even realize that his house had a narrow shape. Andy says that he constantly goes to work and back home along the same street. And from that side, the house seems quite ordinary.

How surprised he was when his brother came to visit him three years ago. The relative asked how Andy was living in a narrow house? Watson did not understand the question. Then the brother took him outside and showed the facade of the dwelling.

“My brother found the shape of my house funny, but I was even a little angry. After all, how did I not notice before. And this is taking into account that I paid attention to similar houses built on narrow street corners,” the Briton admitted. At the same time, he says that he lives in the house normally. And he never thought about moving from here to another place. Inside the house, where the narrowest place is, there is a utility room. Here are four washing machines that the residents of the house use.
