Nine-year-old Amir, a resident of Derbent, has demonstrated remarkable maturity and responsibility beyond his years. Despite his young age, he has been diligently assisting his mother, Naida, by sweeping the streets of their neighborhood before school.

Naida, a hardworking woman, juggles multiple jobs to provide for her family of four. The family resides in a small, aging apartment, and Naida’s income is barely enough to cover their expenses.

The story of Amir’s dedication reached the ears of the newly elected mayor of Derbent, who was deeply moved by the young boy’s selflessness. The mayor was determined to offer his support and improve the family’s circumstances.

After meeting with Amir and Naida, the mayor extended an offer to Amir. He invited the young boy to become his “eyes and ears” in the neighborhood, encouraging him to report any issues or concerns that needed attention.

But the mayor’s generosity didn’t stop there. He gifted the Gashimov family a new apartment in a modern building, providing them with a much-needed upgrade in their living conditions.

Amir and his family are eagerly anticipating their move into the new apartment, which offers approximately 645 square ft of living space. Amir has already expressed his excitement about creating a personal space that reflects his interests, including a designated area for sports and a comfortable desk for studying.
