Antique furniture does not have to be purely decorative. Even experienced designers can creatively turn them into unique elements of the interior, which will become the decoration of your home. Moreover, such a magical update can be done independently, without involving specialists.

When my husband brought home an old sideboard, I was skeptical about it. But he already had a ready-made plan on how to update this thing for use at the dacha, and our son helped him in this.

First, the old parts of the furniture were dismantled, and all the damage was carefully restored with the help of putty. The glass was returned to its original shine and aesthetics using a special aerosol agent.

Eight colors were chosen for the décor. The back panel of the sideboard is now decorated with white and beige stripes. The shelves received a pure white color, ready to accommodate a variety of decorative elements or necessary little things. Two pull-out drawers were repainted in an elegant gray color with contrasting black handles. A geometric pattern appeared on the doors, combining black, yellow, gray and blue shades.

The inside of the cabinet was decorated in a rich purple color, and the three shelves inside received a deep blue shade. After restoring the glass, the husband decided not to install it back, leaving it for future design projects. Currently, the sideboard in a minimalist style has become a real pride of our family, attracting attention with its uniqueness and aesthetic appearance.
