A Woman Transformed an Old Table With Just a Tablecloth: Pics Before And After!
Even the most ordinary and worn-out piece of furniture can be given a new life with a little imagination and a creative restoration. Below is a guide on how to transform a basic table into a designer piece and a vibrant accent in your interior.
First and foremost, you’ll need a table. You can find one at home, in the garden, or purchase one at a flea market, second-hand store, or online. To restore this piece of furniture, you’ll need the following items: fast-drying glue (universal glue works best), a sizable vinyl tablecloth with a bold, colorful print (choose the pattern you like), white or beige paint, scissors, a measuring tape, a pencil, and a ruler.
The color scheme and print of the decorative material can be anything you like, so don’t feel restricted to vibrant floral patterns. Perhaps you’ll prefer Chinese motifs, ethnic patterns, animal prints, botanical designs, or geometric shapes. Restoring the table will take place in several stages: Painting the Table: Start by painting the table on all sides and wait for it to dry completely.
Measuring and Cutting the Material: Measure the table’s dimensions with the tape measure, then use the ruler and pencil to sketch the corresponding shapes on the tablecloth. Afterward, carefully cut out the pieces. If you wish to cover the edges with a border, make sure to add extra material for the edges.
Gluing the Pieces: Apply glue generously to the table’s surfaces and carefully stick the cut-out pieces onto them. Once applied, use a roller or a wide, soft squeegee to smooth out any excess glue and eliminate air bubbles. Allow the glue to dry fully. And just like that—your table has been completely transformed, with minimal effort and simple materials, into a stylish and eye-catching piece!
