Joy Behar, born on October 7, 1942, is celebrating her 82nd birthday! She is well-known as a long-time co-host of the daytime talk show “The View,” where she joined as one of the original panelists in 1997. In 2013, the comedian was unexpectedly fired from the popular ABC series but made her return in 2015. Reflecting on her departure, Behar once remarked, “I was glad to be fired. I was basically tired of the show for reasons I can’t even recall.” She noted that neither she nor the network understood the rationale behind her two-year absence, calling it a “very stupid” move on their part but acknowledged that they learned from it.

She humorously shared a story about an incident where she accidentally crashed into a farm stand, saying, “I had it in drive and forgot to shift gears. When I got out, it started rolling… right into the farm stand. It was too late. Now I can’t go there anymore. It was a tomato blight.”

In April 2024, Behar and her husband, Steve Janowitz, enjoyed a ten-day trip to Italy, which she jokingly referred to as “too much closeness.”

She praised Janowitz for his sense of humor, recalling that during their first year together, she kept her comedian identity a secret to avoid scaring him off. When asked in a subsequent interview why they waited so long to marry, Behar explained, “I had been married before and didn’t really see the point.”
