Rumors of a romantic relationship between Angelina Jolie and British rapper Akala have been circulating after their joint public appearances. While some social media users have voiced concerns, others have shown support.

Akala attended Angelina’s Atelier Jolie event in New York City, as showcased on the fashion house’s Instagram post. Online, opinions about a possible romance quickly flooded in. Some found the rumors disappointing, while others showed support.  Us Weekly clarified on October 2 that Angelina and Akala are not dating. They are simply friends.

Akala’s presence at the Atelier Jolie event came shortly after he attended the premiere of the film “Maria” in New York. At the event, Jolie was seen smiling as she observed an interaction between Akala and her son, Pax, with the two later sharing a warm hug.

The speculation grew after Akala and Angelina were spotted leaving a Venice hotel in late August during the Venice Film Festival. This sighting prompted a mix of reactions online. A report surfaced claiming that Akala is in a relationship with Chanelle Newman, clarifying that Jolie is friends with both Akala and Chanelle.

The rumors between Angelina and Akala first began in 2023 when he joined her and her daughters at the Calabash Literary Festival in Jamaica. Later in December, they were seen together in Milan while Angelina was filming “Maria Callas.”

Both Jolie and Akala seemed comfortable and cheerful during these sightings, sparking further speculation. However, Akala, a successful musician and social entrepreneur, is reportedly only friends with Angelina, and both continue to focus on their respective careers, despite the buzz surrounding them.
