One Year Since Matthew Perry’s Death: His Final Words Revealed: What Was The Last Thing He Said?

Matthew Perry, renowned for his portrayal of Chandler Bing on the popular sitcom Friends, was a beloved figure in television. Beyond his comedic roles, Perry also showcased his dramatic talents in shows like Ally McBeal and The West Wing.

Despite his on-screen success, Perry battled with personal demons, including depression and addiction. He was open about his struggles, sharing his experiences in his memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing. In a candid interview, Perry described the relentless nature of addiction, comparing it to a disease constantly lurking in the shadows.

Perry’s addiction spiraled out of control, leading him to consume a dangerous amount of prescription pills. On October 28, 2023, Perry’s life tragically ended. Earlier that day, he had engaged in physical activity before returning home. After sending his assistant out on an errand, Perry was found unresponsive upon his return.

Perry’s final moments were tied to a devastating incident involving his assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, who has since pleaded guilty to his involvement in Perry’s death due to ketamine. In his final words, Perry reportedly asked Iwamasa to “Shoot me up with a big one,” according to a plea deal with federal prosecutors. Iwamasa, who lacked medical training, had administered ketamine injections to Perry, leading to his death.

An investigation revealed that Iwamasa had injected Perry with ketamine multiple times, including on the day of his death. Perry was discovered unresponsive in his jacuzzi, and an autopsy confirmed that ketamine was the cause of death.

Several individuals faced charges related to drug-related offenses connected to Perry’s death. The incident serves as a tragic reminder of the dangers of addiction and the importance of seeking help.
