Mom Who Gave Birth to Identical Triplets Shows How They’ve Grown Up
Becky-Jo Allen was stunned to learn she would soon be a mother to triplets. But the real shocker was that all three boys are absolutely identical. Initially, it was just the neighbors and visitors who noticed the striking resemblance. However, a DNA test confirmed it: genetically, the three boys are identical. Such a case is exceedingly rare, occurring only once in 200 million.
Becky-Jo has been able to tell her children apart almost since birth. According to her, all three have birthmarks between their eyebrows. However, Romain’s is a bit darker than the others, and Rohan has a mole on his leg. When they were in the hospital, doctors said they were not identical. But after leaving the hospital, many people have remarked that the boys are indistinguishable.
The babies are named Rocco, Romain, and Rohan. They also have different personalities—one is quite vocal, another is quiet, and the third is somewhere in between.
Before Indiana was born, Becky-Jo dreamed of becoming a nurse-midwife. Now, after everything she’s been through, she thinks about it even more.
Identical triplets are born when a fertilized egg divides twice. Without fertility treatments, the odds of having such babies range from one in 60,000 to one in 200 million.
Becky-Jo faced significant challenges initially. The babies required about 130 diapers and four packs of wipes per week. One pack of formula lasted roughly two days, and the washing machine ran three times a day.
The boys’ father doesn’t live with Becky-Jo; her biggest help comes from her sister, Lauren.
