“The Width Of Its Narrowest Side Is 2.95 Feet!”: What Does The Narrowest House In The World Look Like Inside?

In the suburb of Chicago, in the small town of Deerfield, stands an unusual house that immediately grabs attention with its distinctive appearance. It resembles a slice of pie elongated along the road, which is why the house is named the Pie House.

Built in 2003 by architect Greg Wiesman, the house was situated on a plot of land with a triangular shape and was very narrow. This posed certain challenges for construction, but not for Wiesman, who saw an opportunity in these limitations.

The narrowest side of the house measures just 35 inches, while the opposite side stretches to 25 ft. This allowed the architect to maximize the use of the plot area effectively.

In 2016, the house was put up for sale and immediately attracted public attention. Its photographs spread worldwide, becoming an internet sensation.

In 2023, it was sold for approximately $300,000. The new owners plan to rent it out or use it as a tourist attraction.

The Pie House is a vivid example of how a creative approach and unconventional thinking can turn constraints into opportunities. This house proves that even in the most challenging conditions, it is possible to build a functional and comfortable space!
