“Such a Nice And Attractive Girl”: What Did Olaf Scholz’s Wife Look Like In Her Youth?

Olaf Scholz and Britta Ernst have been married for 26 years, although they only began wearing wedding rings relatively recently, in 2013, despite their 40-year acquaintance.

Even though Scholz speaks of his wife with great affection, referring to her as the love of his life, the couple made the choice not to have children.

Unlike many other political spouses, Britta Ernst pursued her own career rather than staying in the shadow of her husband. Throughout the 90s, she held various government positions, though she left her role as Minister of Education Brandenburg in 2017.

During her time in the spotlight, Britta’s public appearances were infrequent, making each one a media event.

Britta Ernst’s style diverges from the typical glamorous image associated with political spouses.

She eschews stylists and prefers simple, comfortable clothing over extravagant evening wear, often opting for jeans and sneakers instead of high heels. Similarly, she opts for costume jewellery over diamonds, and only indulges in professional styling and makeup for rare occasions.

While some may perceive Britta’s appearance as lacking femininity and grooming, her style is characterized by simplicity and efficiency.

However, there’s a desire among observers to see a touch of brightness, tenderness, and femininity in her image.

Despite her reserved public persona and political career, Britta Ernst has also dabbled in acting, appearing in the 2004 French police drama “Quai des Orfèvres 36.”
