The Couple Bought an Old Apartment And Turned It Into a Beautiful, Stylish Apartment: But There Was an Important Nuance!
Our heroes (a married couple with two children) had long dreamed of a beautiful home, where every corner would be perfectly fitted to their needs. But faced with the reality of the property market and their budget, they had to resort to a creative solution – buying an old flat and completely redecorating it.
This is what their flat looked like before the renovation:
By independently developing the design and carrying out the renovation, they put a part of their soul into every detail, although for some complicated tasks they had to ask for help (e.g. replacing pipes, windows, electrics). The size of the flat was a modest 46.6 square metres, but the family managed to turn this space into a real cosy flat. The entrance hall, which was the starting point of this journey of change, was transformed beyond recognition.
Compact but functional, it became the perfect lobby for welcoming guests.
A wardrobe made by the owner’s husband and a stylish stool restored by the owner herself added a unique charm to the hallway.
By redesigning the kitchen and living room, the owners created a spacious and bright space where each element had its own special place.
Corner set with snow-white facades, contrasting apron of white tiles and yellow refrigerator (actually, it is white – it became yellow due to the glued film on top), which became an unusual accent, created a unique style of the interior.
The living room, united with the kitchen, has become a place for family gatherings and relaxation.
A working corner with an Ikea chest of drawers, a yellow sofa and a TV zone created an atmosphere of cosiness and comfort.
The bedroom was divided into two zones. A wooden partition in the form of a… fence divided the adult bedroom and the children’s room.
The bathroom was also transformed and became functional, stylish and comfortable.
What did you think of the final renovation? What did you like and what could have been done differently? Personally, we found the decision to make a partition between the bedroom and the children’s room in the form of a fence the strangest.
