Artist and model Frances Bean Cobain recently took to Instagram to share a heartfelt tribute to her late father, Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The 31-year-old posted archival footage marking the 30th anniversary of his passing.

The poignant video showcases a glimpse of Cobain’s final moments with his then one-year-old daughter. Frances expressed a longing to have known her father better, from the sound of his voice to his everyday habits.

She pondered experiences they might have shared, like catching tadpoles or enjoying simple moments together. Frances also revealed a touching excerpt from a letter Kurt Cobain wrote to her before her birth, expressing his unwavering love and connection.

“Those words, ‘Wherever you go or wherever I go, I will always be with you,’ have held true,” Frances reflected. She went on to explain how her father’s music continues to be a powerful presence in her life, keeping his memory alive.

The post included additional glimpses into Cobain’s life, featuring footage of him as a child and with his own mother.

Frances Bean Cobain, born in 1992 to Cobain and singer Courtney Love, has carved her own artistic path.

Known for her abstract art and drawings, she recently married skateboarder Riley Hawk in 2023.
