“I Am Finally Ready To Talk About My Diagnosis”: Neil Diamond Opened Up About About His Disease In a New Interview!

Neil Diamond, a legendary musician known for hits like “Sweet Caroline,” faced a challenging turn in his career when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2018. The 82-year-old artist recently shared his journey of coming to terms with the diagnosis in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning.

Diamond initially struggled with denial upon learning about his condition, pushing aside the reality for the first year or two.

Despite the diagnosis, he continued with his 50th Anniversary tour in 2017 but had to cancel the Australia and New Zealand leg in 2018 due to the increasing difficulty caused by Parkinson’s.

Retiring from concert touring was a tough decision for Diamond, and it took him considerable time and effort to fully accept both the diagnosis and his retirement.

However, he revealed in the recent interview that, in the last few weeks, he has found a sense of calm and acceptance.

Describing the shift in his perspective, Diamond mentioned feeling more at ease with himself and others. He acknowledged the quietude that Parkinson’s brought to his life, likening it to the tranquility of a recording studio.

Despite the challenges posed by Parkinson’s, Neil Diamond’s ability to find peace and continue sharing his music on special occasions showcases his resilience and enduring connection with his audience.
