“Cool Muscular Beauty”: What Does The daughter Of Jean-Claude Van Damme Look Like?
Her dad was famous for action movies, but what about his daughter? She won’t let herself be held back either.
The name Van Varenberg might not ring a bell for most. The Belgian martial artist adopted the easier-to-pronounce pseudonym Van Damme in Hollywood. His daughter, Bianca, aims to honor their real family name – she began her career using her birth surname.
Even though she’s known as Bianca Van Damme, she can’t escape her father’s fame. But Bianca wants to exceed expectations.
“I know it’s tough to surpass dad. He’s a legend. But I’m still going to give it my all.”
Her story sounds like fate: “You can’t escape destiny.”
Bianca, born on October 17, 1990 in Los Angeles, seems destined for martial arts or bodybuilding success.
Her dad, a European karate and kickboxing champ with a 53-2 record, was nicknamed “Muscles from Brussels.” Her mom, Gladys Portugues, was a famous bodybuilder. Bianca has two brothers too: Christopher and Nicholas.
Despite her family’s body-focused background, she disliked it all. She wasn’t into martial arts her parents loved. Instead, she chose ballet and figure skating as a child. Even though her mom wanted her in martial arts for discipline, she let Bianca decide.
Growing up in Vancouver, she was into skating. She even dreamed of the Olympics, but an injury changed her course.
“I was stuck for a while. My life was about skating. Then I had to find something new.”
