It was evident from the moment a cute puppy arrived at the animal shelter that he would have a hard time finding a family. The problem was that the big dog always exhibited anxiety around strangers.

It is unknown what his living situation was like before arriving at the institution, but it was clear that he didn’t immediately trust anyone.

His previous parents said they didn’t have enough time to take care of him, and Big Mac was given up. The animal shelter was in need of a kind, compassionate and patient person who could convince the nervous dog that people weren’t all that horrible.

However, Big Mac became the shelter’s longest-staying inhabitant.

A miracle occurred at the sanctuary after almost a year. He was going to be fostered by one of the rescue employees, who later became obsessed with the once-frightened canine.

The dog slept for more than 10 hours before waking up and suddenly became very animated, wanting to play with the other animals.

He relearned trust with the aid of the other dog.

The neighborhood dog adopted him, and whenever they went for a stroll and Big Mac started to get a bit nervous, the dog would tell him that everything was fine and that people could be kind too.

To mark the occasion of the Big Mac’s adoption, the center staff planned a special event.

His new mother was amazed at how well he took it, which indicates that he is coping much better with the threat of strangers.

Now that the pup has a new family that will always be by his side, he is a part of a loving home.
