A few years ago, four-year-old Gage had a tough time at his dad’s wedding. His father, US Marine Corps sergeant Joshua Newville, was marrying Senior Airman Emily Leehan in Ripley, New York. Gage was holding it together until Emily started reading vows she wrote just for him.

During the ceremony, Gage stood proudly next to his dad as he exchanged vows with Emily. Little did Gage know that Emily had heartfelt vows just for him.

When she began to say them, emotions got the best of him, and Gage burst into tears. Emily started with, “I want you to be safe, and to try your hardest and to be a good person,” but before she could finish, Gage hugged her tightly and couldn’t hold back his tears.

The audience couldn’t help but say ‘aww’ as Emily comforted Gage, saying, “Don’t cry baby.” Emily continued expressing her love for Gage, saying, “The last thing I hope you learn is that you are a special boy.

You are so extremely smart, handsome, and kind to others. You have helped shape me into the woman that I am today, and I may not have given you the gift of life, but life surely gave me the gift of you.”

Both Emily and Joshua had tears of their own as they finished their vows. Despite stealing the show with his emotional reaction, Gage added a touching moment to their memorable ceremony.
