“The Result Exceeded All Expectations”: A Man In a Wheelchair Was Able To Turn an Abandoned Store Into a Dream Home!
Vyacheslav Minchanin, who lost his legs a long time ago and can only move around in a wheelchair or on prostheses, was able to turn an abandoned store into a beautiful and comfortable home.
He comes from Minsk but always dreamed of living in the countryside. In 2011, he got the chance to buy an old building in the village of Kotyagi.
Originally, Vyacheslav planned to use it for a small production, but his business didn’t work out.
So, he decided to turn it into a house since he didn’t have one at that time. It took two long years to finish the paperwork and buy the building.
The authorities put it up for auction, and he managed to purchase it for ten thousand dollars.
Vyacheslav needed help from professional builders for the most labor-intensive work since he couldn’t do certain things while in a wheelchair.
He wanted to finish the house quickly, so his son could attend a local school.
Once the house was heated and ready, Vyacheslav moved in with his family.
He saved money for the reconstruction, which ended up costing more than expected. But he wasn’t afraid and started the work, learning from YouTube videos.
Even though the repairs are still ongoing, Vyacheslav and his wife are happy with their new home and plan to increase its area in the future by adding a terrace.
He enjoys doing the work himself and is glad he doesn’t have to sit idle.
