The Mystery of the Strange Black House in the City Center: Discover Its Location and Story!
In a small German town called Möringen stands an unusual house. It’s entirely black, from the roof to the foundation. This installation is known as Haus in Schwarz, or the Black House. It wasn’t always like this. In 2008, artists Erik Sturm and Simon Jung had an unconventional idea: to paint a house in a matte black color that was supposed to be demolished by the city authorities.
According to the artists’ concept, the black color was meant to symbolize saying goodbye to the house.
However, as is often the case, plans don’t always unfold as expected. The house was not torn down. Instead, it became a popular tourist attraction.
Many people come to admire the striking building. Some even see it as a symbol of the town.
Thus, a house that was meant to be demolished has gained new life!
