Alexander went hunting with a friend, his dog Nora, on one of the winter days. They combed the fields looking for a fox or a hare. Since they were all seasoned walkers and the dog had previous experience, Alexander also equipped Nora with a collar that tracks her location. The dog ran after a fox after smelling its fresh trail, but instead of finding prey, it ended itself in “badger city.”

The males were unable to comprehend what had happened right away. The dog took them to two burrows where the dog traces were when they followed him using the GPS collar. But then, when they decided to take a break, they heard muffled sounds underground, very similar to blows. They began to dig in this place, but the sounds disappeared, it became very dark and they went home again.

Alexander came to the conclusion that it was vital to carry on digging where these sounds were after spending the night in thought. They went back to the excavations in the early morning. He entered one of the trenches and heard strange noises inside. He dug out a wider channel and started to listen. Although there was utter silence, the men started to dig once again to get closer after hearing heavy breathing close to the pit.

The poor animal’s tail and hind legs were visible from beneath the ground when friends dug another hole nearby. She was gently extricated by Alexander, who then brought her to the car while covering her with a warm blanket.

The dog was breathing very heavily, his nose and eyes were clogged with sand, he could not stand, because he spent 6 whole days underground in one position. He brought the poor man home and first of all began to solder with water, after that he slowly began to give food, washed it from sand and clay.
