“Retired Couple Builds Tiny Home to Be Closer to Grandchildren!”: How It Looks Inside!
One day, the couple made the decision to downsize and move into a simple yet cozy tiny home. Now that both of their children have grown and started families of their own, their son lives just half a mile away, while their daughter resides in Kentucky—a 10-hour journey that they take in their RV when visiting her.
Their tiny house, originally built by Liberation Tiny Homes, is located in the Tiny Estates Village in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. The house offers a picturesque view of a pond, providing the couple with a serene spot to unwind and take in the beautiful surroundings.
Before they purchased it, the home had been used as a rental property on Airbnb for around two years. Measuring just 28 feet by 8.5 feet, Bonny and Ty are more than pleased with their choice to embrace tiny living.
The interior has a rustic, farmhouse style, which suited the couple’s taste perfectly, as they love the cozy, country aesthetic. The living area is designed with two chairs, allowing them to relax and enjoy their time indoors.
Adjacent to the living space is a small dining area featuring a wall-mounted side table. To maximize space, the table has a bench that tucks neatly underneath when not in use. At the far end of the house is the bathroom, which is cleverly separated by a sliding door to save space. It includes all the essentials: a toilet, shower, and a small sink.
The final feature of their tiny home is the sleeping loft, located above the kitchen and bathroom area. It has a comfortable queen-size bed with convenient remote-controlled lighting, and windows on either side provide a refreshing cross-breeze.
Although Ty, who is six feet tall, initially found it challenging to adjust to the low ceiling in the loft, both he and Bonny have since adapted to the compact space and now fully enjoy the peace and calm that their tiny home provides.
Living in Tiny Estates has given them the opportunity to embrace a minimalist lifestyle without sacrificing comfort. They are now happily settled, appreciating the simplicity of their new way of life.
