But in 1987, he landed a leading role in the television series “21 Jump Street”. His performances turned him into a celebrity overnight.

He soon decided that he would no longer act on television and focused only on getting good roles in films to support his new celebrity status in Hollywood. But the next decade proved to be not favorable for Depp. Most of his films flopped at the box office and he soon lost his confidence.
