”He still remembers who I am”: The daughter of a dementia patient Willis sadly spoke about his condition
Tallulah, the daughter of Hollywood actors Demi Moore and Bruce Willis, opened up about her father’s deteriorating health due to dementia. The young woman recalled that when her father started displaying symptoms of the disease, they initially dismissed them, attributing them to hearing problems. Now, Tallulah feels regretful that they didn’t raise the alarm immediately.
Presently, whenever Tallulah visits her father, she makes an effort to capture numerous photos and videos, aiming to preserve memories of him as lively and joyful.
“Each time I visit my father’s home, I snap a multitude of photos. I feel like an explorer unearthing hidden treasures in things I never paid much attention to before. All his voice messages are stored on a hard drive. I try to document everything to remind myself of him and for him to remember us. Thankfully, his mobility remains unaffected by dementia,” Tallulah shared, as reported by Vogue.
The daughter of Willis also revealed that her father still recognizes her. She remains hopeful that he will eventually recover, despite suffering from a severe form of rapidly progressive dementia, currently incurable.
“He still remembers who I am and lights up when I enter the room. Nevertheless, I hold onto belief in my father and refuse to lose hope for his recovery,” added Tallulah.
It is worth noting that in 2022, Bruce Willis received a diagnosis of aphasia, but in 2023, it was discovered that he actually has one of the most challenging forms of dementia known as frontotemporal dementia.
