“From Trash To Treasure”: How I Turned an Old Bread Bin Into a Masterpiece!

My friend had an old bread box that she inherited from her parents. The bread box was lying in the shed and was used to store tools. When my friend decided to clean up the shed, she decided to throw away the bread box so it wouldn’t take up space. When I saw the bread box, I immediately wanted to take it. I really liked old things, and I decided to renovate the bread box to make it a decoration for my kitchen.
The work turned out to be difficult. First, I blew the dust and debris out of the bread box with a compressor, and then poured water over it from a bucket. After that, it became clear that the bread box needed serious repairs. The bottom of the bread box was rusty, and the paint was peeling off.
I bought paint remover and treated the bread box with it several times. Then I poured boiling water over it to remove the remaining paint and rust. After that, I thoroughly washed the bread box with sandpaper, powder, and rust remover. The final stage of cleaning was washing the bread box with a pressure washer. The powerful jet of water washed away all the small particles that were stuck in the cracks.
While I was working, the neighbor peeked out from behind the fence because he was surprised by the strange sounds coming from my garden. After cleaning, I started painting. I chose white spray paint and painted the bread box in several layers. After the paint dried, I made a brown inscription using a stencil.
Finally, I made new handles for the bread box. My husband and I cut two convex handles from a wooden plank and screwed them to the bread box with screws. When my friend saw the renovated bread box, she immediately asked me to give it back to her. I agreed, but in return asked her to find me another old bread box.
