From an Old Wooden House To an Ultra-Modern One: A Woman Renovated Her Old House Built In 1957 And Surprised Everyone With The Result!
This unassuming wooden house, erected in 1957, may not catch the eye at first glance. Its unpretentious facade, devoid of vibrant flower beds in the yard, belies its Swedish roots. Unlike the majority of houses in Sweden, which sport a bright red hue, this one stands out with its natural, sun-bleached wood, left unpainted.
The quaint abode spans a mere 60 square meters and sits nestled on the petite island of Helgö. Helgö, spanning 48 hectares, boasts just over a hundred residences, along with a fully-fledged infrastructure. Despite its remote setting, the cabin is a mere 40-minute journey from Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Residents seamlessly commute to work in the city and transport their children to school.
The exterior of the house appears unassuming, doesn’t it? The property comprises multiple structures: a primary residence housing a kitchen and living area on the lower level, with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs; a renovated barn now serving as a workshop and laundry facility; and a compact storage unit.
Inside the house lives a mum with 2 children, an artist who works from home while her children go to kindergarten and school.
The whole house is imbued with creative energy, starting from the kitchen, where you can see a homemade chandelier, an unusual mirror, as well as paintings and drawings on the walls.
The furniture is not the most modern, but all the necessary appliances are present. Brightly coloured items, from fruit to funny trays, give the house a special flavour.
The interior is complemented by beautiful windows and a nice fireplace in the hallway.
The living room looks like something out of a fairy tale.
On the 2nd floor are the sleeping rooms, including a nursery with two beds and the master bedroom, which unfortunately suffers from low ceilings.
Moving on to the neighbouring building, which used to be an ordinary barn.
The bathroom, located in a neighbouring building, delights with its handmade mosaics and aristocratic style.
There is also a cosy seating area outside the house, where the owner invites guests or dines al fresco with her children. This house, although strange and unusual, is full of warm atmosphere and creative energy.
