Although dental treatment for children is typically free in New Zealand, Evan’s case needed multiple surgeries that incurred separate costs. When news of the boy’s situation reached the public, an astonishing $100,000 was raised instead of the initially requested $12,000. This unexpected influx of funds brought both surprise and joy to Evan’s parents. It enabled them to cover all the necessary medical procedures for their son and even purchase a new car. They selflessly donated the remaining money to other children in need of assistance.

As a result, the boy gained his dream appearance and was grateful to the people who helped him to change it and feel so happy.
