Angelina Jolie has still not fully recovered from her mother’s passing. To this day, the actress carries a piece of jewelry containing her mother’s ashes. Her mother was only 56 years old when cancer took her life. Angelina did not want to repeat her mother’s fate, nor did she want her own children to experience a similar tragedy.
Because of this, she decided to undergo a preventative double mastectomy, as well as the removal of her ovaries and fallopian tubes. She did everything possible to minimize the risks of the disease.
While this decision left physical scars on her body, Angelina sought to support other women by participating in a very personal photoshoot. She shared her experience in an article for Time France.
Notably, the photoshoot coincides with the release of a film featuring the actress. In the project, Angelina plays a director who is diagnosed with cancer.
She agreed to the role because the subject matter is deeply personal and close to her heart.
