Even before the contest ended, Chiara faced a barrage of hateful comments and speculations. According to online critics, the only reason a girl with a prosthetic leg could have been allowed into such a competition was out of pity.

At the age of 13, Chiara lost part of her left leg below the knee following a car accident. Despite this life-altering event, she never abandoned her long-standing dream of becoming a model. Remarkably, she’s able to walk in any type of shoe, including high heels, using her prosthetic leg.

Chiara collaborates with Models of Diversity, an organization celebrated for its unconventional approach to beauty. They don’t work with “standard models.” She leads an active lifestyle, engages in various sports (even roller-skating), and now dreams of becoming an orthopedic surgeon.

For Chiara, winning wasn’t the primary goal of participating in the contest. She simply wanted to enjoy life and savor every joyful moment. “I may be missing a leg, but you’re missing a heart and a brain,” she retorted to her critics.
