The extraordinary partnership between Olympic champions Oleg Protopopov and Lyudmila Belousova began in Moscow in 1954, when the two young skating enthusiasts first met. Starting relatively late for professional athletes—Oleg at 15 and Lyudmila at 16—their shared love for figure skating quickly blossomed into both a professional alliance and a deep personal connection.
