Michael Oliver was born to Matthew Oliverius and Diane Ponce, who from a young age, were determined to push their son into the world of showbiz. In fact, by the tender age of two, little Michael had already modeled for the catalog of the major retail chain, *Sears*.

At six, Oliver appeared in a commercial for the energy giant *Chevron*. It was this very ad that caught the eye of a casting agent for *Problem Child*. The agent was set on casting this charming boy in the new movie. After tracking down his family, within days, young Michael had landed the starring role.
