A 12-year-old made a wheelchair for a disabled dog
Animals with disabilities are not always the most desired pets for people. Most people do not have the patience and wish to help poor creatures as they need a little more care than others.
Luckily, some people are willing to invest their time and energy in pets with disabilities.
Gracie, a dog, had a difficult beginning in life. She was left by her parents when she was a newborn and was discovered in a terrible condition, covered in maggots, with fur missing below her eyes. In addition to that, she lacked two front legs due to a congenital disability.
The dog was taken to an animal rescue to be adopted and taken care of. Soon, she found her new parents and relocated to her new home.
Many people would believe that dogs with disabilities should be put to sleep. However, Gracie’s new parents proved that despite the difficulty of living, the dog could actually have a happy and active life.
Even though Gracie was hopping around and playing on his two legs, the mommy thought it might hurt her. So, they started looking for solutions.
All they needed was a customizable wheelchair for puppies that was nearly impossible to find.
The solution was so unexpected. One teenager from the shelter uses lego to create a wheelchair for the animal. That was a very creative, original, and practical solution involving only plastic bricks and wheels.
He was also able to make Gracie a new chair right away once she outgrew the first one. In total, he produced three unique models.
Now that Gracie is fully matured, she can use an ordinary wheelchair. However, she won’t soon forget those unique LEGO solutions or the child who created them.
Now Gracie is capable of playing happily with other dogs and feels complete at last. This is a vivid example of how not giving up can result in having greater achievements and living happily at last.
